Hi Folks
I suffer from a recurring BT Mail problem in that the system sometimes decides that my boring and innocuous emails to friends are spam. Once it has made that decision there is no chance of sending the email, or in the lesser category occasions sending it without [SPAM] in the subject line. Having to copy the email's contents over to my Gmail account and sending it from there does seem rather silly.
Does anybody know how to stop this daft function operating?
Many thanks
Pete
Hi @PeteThePen1
Welcome to the community.
Could you take a look at this BT Email - best practices help page please? There are some brilliant tips on there for trying to make sure your emails aren't flagged as spam.
Chris
If you are just an @btinternet.com domestic user you may find that the link posted above is not a great deal of help as it is directed towards commercial users and senders of bulk emails who usually use their own domain email service so most of the information given is not relevant to you nor can the settings refered to be changed by you.
There is some relevant information in some of the sub-links directed towards domestic users which you may find of use.
Thanks Chris & Distinuished Sage for your respnses.
As suggested I looked up some of the advice and felt that it in no way seemed to relate to me as a domestic user using BT Webmail or BT mobile App. Indeed one page specificlly says it is not intended for consumers. I have followed some of the links but nothing jumps out as being 'The Solution'.
I have a suspicion that the issue is an 'undocumented feature' or glitch because the conditions necessary for it to occur are seldom encountered. Copying the contents of the email to one's backup email account and sending it from there is a work around but it is a nuisance as one has to flag to the recipients to reply to the BT email address not the backup email address.
Perhaps some other Foum member has managed to document the conditions that occur just before the error appears and blocks one from sending the mail.
Regards
Pete
I have encountered the same problem a couple of times when replying to an email.
