BTInternet on iPhone and ipad

I’ve been using my BTInternet account for years without any problems. Now it’s stopped working on all my devices.  After trying various things I deleted the account on my iPhone and now it won’t reload.    Familiar message “the imap server ‘mail.BTInternet.com’ doesn’t support Password authentication’. I say OK to that and try again then I get ‘Cannot connect using SSL’.  I’ve no access to settings.  In the meantime all of my other devices still can’t send or receive messages.  Grateful for any suggestions. I’m just going round in circles !!

Are you a current BT broadband customer or do you pay for premium email

Re: BTInternet on iPhone and ipad

I have moved you onto the BTMail email board because presumably you are having problems with your BTMail email account.

As has already been asked, are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?

If neither of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client

See link

https://www.bt.com/help/email/bt-email-products

If you are a BT Broadband customer or paying for your email, what devices are you using to access the email account?

How are you accessing the email account on those devices, is it with an email client/app and if so which one?

Can you still send and receive emails when you log onto the account using a web browser.

Re: BTInternet on iPhone and ipad

Hi @Steve997,

For clarity what was it you did that restored the incoming mail? As @gg30340 asked, can you send and receive ok when logged in directly to BTMail on a web browser https://email.bt.com/mail and are you currently accessing your e-mails via a E-mail client?
