iphone stopped syncing all email subfolders

I have two email accounts set up in Outlook 2013 on my laptop and both sync to my iPhone 14 (and synced to previous iPhones)  For some time now any new folders that I create in Outlook do not sync with my phone which is a pain when travelling etc.  I'm not aware that I've changed any settings etc - when things tend to work I leave well alone!!

I always thought it was because we've got an old laptop/software but I have created a sub-folder in my husband's email account this week and noticed that this folder has synced my phone under his account.

I've checked our mail settings - they are both IMAP/SMTP accounts with the same 993 port as incoming server; the only difference being mine has587 at the outgoing server and husband's has 465.  I've tried changing mine but that fails and both of these numbers (587 and 465) are listed on bt website for outgoing servers.  My email is the default account so unsure if this is why they differ?

iPhone settings have the same details for both accounts.  I've deleted my account from iPhone and re-added, reset network settings too but no change.  I've deleted lots of old folders from Outlook but even these are not syncing and remain as subfolders on iPhone.  Meanwhile I'm still receiving emails ok.

Any ideas as it's driving me mad!!??

Re: iphone stopped syncing all email subfolders

Your best bet here would be to speak with Microsoft for Outlook support. If you're worried that your broadband might be the issue, then you could always give BT customer services a ring but they would only be able to check for faults on the line. They wouldn't be able to do anything with your email account unless it's specifically a BT email address you've got. But even then, they can't support with third-party email providers for obvious reasons.
