But email

I keep receiving error message Server outage, please try later. I’ve reloaded the BT Email app, changed the password and on every device it’s the same message when i try to log in. Even cleared the Google cache. Just stumped

Re: But email

How long has this been happening?

Have you considered that there is a problem with the BT email server as per the error message?

Are you able to log on using a web browser instead of the BTMail app?

Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?

If neither of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client

Re: But email

Can you send and receive using a web browser?

The BTMail app is in my opinion a piece of rubbish. You should try a decent free email app such as Bluemail for Windows as well as Android and Apple.

Have you checked via your MyBT > Your Products > Email, manage, to see that your account type is showing as Premium and not Basic?

Re: But email

When you say "see and read my email via the BT products website"  does this also mean that you can send from there. If so it would appear there is nothing wrong with your email account or password.

It could just be there is a problem with the BT servers as per the error message and it will be eventually sorted.

You could try another free email app even if only on a temporary basis to see if the BTMail app is the problem.

Re: But email

I have spoken to BT direct and they acknowledge that there is a problem with the BT app and are working to fix this issue. So we just relax and it’s Friday. Thanks for your support.

No surprise there. It seems to lurch from problem to problem.. once its is sorted this time I wonder how long it will be to the next one.

Re: But email

I have absolutely no idea why folks persist with the BT email app when there are many far superior free apps out there.
