If you had carried out a simple Internet search you would have found the following.

Open the  Settings app on your iPhone.

Scroll down and tap Apps, then select Mail.

Tap Accounts (or Mail Accounts) and select your BT email account.

Tap the Account Name to enter the settings.

Under Incoming Mail Server, delete the old password dots and type in your new password.

Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server and tap on SMTP.

Tap the active server.

Tap the Password field, enter your new password, and tap Done

Thank you so much Sage, nice clear instructions - it all works until the last step where I get the message:

"btinternet.com does not recognise this."

Tries 3 or 4 times in case I got something wrong.

Is my only hope to change the password once more and try again?  Have changed three of four times over the last month.

Frustrated! Maybe I will have to ring BT again   😞

before changing the password again make sure that you turn off your iPhone and any other devices that access your email account.

When you change the password using a web browser, check and make sure it is working OK on webmail.

If it is OK wait for a couple of hours before changing the password on the iPhone. This will give the servers a chance to synchronise and recognise the new password.

After waiting turn on the iPhone and change the password to the "new" one. Check it works.

If it is OK move onto your next device if you have one.

Thanks for your help but it wouldn't work, got a BT is not responding.  Ended up phoning for assistance and after a lengthy trial and error set of suggestions found a solution.

Reason was Apple Email App would not accept the changes.  Was obliged to download BT Mail App. This finally worked.

Phew and thanks again
