Downgrade from Premium to basic email

Can I Downgrade from Premium to basic email and will I lose anything ? I do not have BT Broadband or a BT landline I just pay £7.50 a month for my email address. In these times I would like to just go to Basic.

Call the Premium mail team to downgrade 0808 100 6778

You will lose the ability to use mail apps or clients, basic mail is only accessible as webmail. You will also get adverts on the webmail page.

Is this still the case that I need to call 0808 100 6778 to downgrade from Premium (£7.50) to Basic (£0.00).

And the new set up will be webmail only?

@Tony1967  Yup, that’s what it states if you bring it up on a search.

If you’re ok with accessing your email via webmail only, then it is what it is, a basic email service. Otherwise, switch to another email provider or subscribe to a different provider altogether. I subscribe to a Swiss based email provider and that costs me around 30 quid a year, much less than what BT charge. Ultimately only you can decide what is right for you.

Yes I have made a Gmail account my main email and following a concerted effort for a couple of months the emails through BT are now down to a dribble but I want to keep it for a while longer to make sure everything is dealt with, so moving to web based should be fine. Save myself £90 a year! Should have done it years ago when I moved house and lost BT Broadband/Landline....
