Thanks for suggestions re downloading and printing, however, I just want to download and not print many of my email attachments. Still haven’t solved the problem!
Unfortunately this just seems like a place let steam off, BT doesn't seem to bother to step and help us. I've only been able to open or download attachments once, then I shut down my computer, reopen it then I can open or download a second attachment. Seems either Chrome or Windows related. No problems with viewing every attachment in the same dialogue from my phone.
I have just used Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera to download attachments without any problems.
As I previously posted, to download attachments you need to either click on the attachments name or go to the three small dots to the right of the attachment and click on that and then click on download. The attachment will then be downloaded to your download folder.
If you click on the attachment icon this will open the attachment within your email and allow you to view it. You can also view it by clicking on the three dots to the right hand side and selecting view.
If this does not work on your email account have you checked to see what folder your browser is set to download to?
Have you checked to see if your browser is set to show when a download starts?
Is your browser up to date?
Have you tried clearing the browsers history and cookies?
Do you have any browser extensions or add-ons. If so try turning them off one at a time to see if it is blocking the downloads.
Have you checked your Antivirus software to see if it has a setting to prevent email downloads?
All of the above has happened to me too. It is clearly due to some update or change in operation. I get a message come up on the taskbar saying "download blocked" but you have to be quick to see it. Is there a setting somewhere? PLEASE PLEASE answer coherently, not by just repeating the same set of instructions. It does not work any more. The three dots are there, but the only way to see the document is the way in which have already been discussed earlier in the thread. ie Preview, Printing etc.
There is no update, change or setting that has affected the downloading of attachments, it works just fine.
I suspect the message is coming from your anti-virus rather than BT mail. Try pausing it temporarily.
I have spoken with my virus provider and they have been able to establish that there was a block within the settings on Microsoft Edge. If you check that box the downloads will no longer be blocked. It was nothing to do with my virus protection, and was likely triggered by something either by BT or Microsoft. Hope that helps other people.
If it was a setting in Microsoft Edge it would be their problem or something that you may have clicked in error. BT have no control over your browser's settings.
At the risk of sounding defensive 🤣 it is funny that there are a number of us who have all inadvertently clicked this infamous button...
Not with standing that you are posting on a thread that was last contributed to two years ago prior to you resurrecting it from the dead, perhaps you could explain how BT changed a setting on your browser that prevents attachments from being downloaded.
If it was something that BT introduced in an update, of which there haven't been any in the past two years since this thread was started how has it only affected you now and how has it not effect every user of the BTMail web page?
On the other hand Microsoft update the Edge browser virtually every month.
