Re: Downloading attachments

I have BT Premium.  BUT when I try to add my bt email into Outlook - I get as far as putting in the email address and then I get the spinning wheel and then eventually get a message in red saying "sign in failed . Please try again in a few minutes. You may need an app password"

I have managed to add in three other emails into Outlook, but not BT - gently frustrating 😕

Re: Downloading attachments

If you were a BT Broadband Customer who migrated to EE are you paying for a BT Premium email account?

Your BTMail accounts should have been migrated and associated to your EE Broadband account albeit it is still managed through your "old" MyBT as I have already posted. If you are not paying for BT Premium email it may be that BT/EE have changed it so show as a "Premium" account but with zero cost so that it is kept active rather than being downgraded.

The settings that you need for setting up BTMail in Outlook are as per this link.

BT Email server settings | BT Help

You should remove the BTMail account set up from Outlook and then restart Outlook and try setting it up manually rather than letting Outlook set it up automatically, using the IMAP / SMTP settings in the link above.

Re: Downloading attachments

Thank you so much for your detailed help.  BUT I have done everything you have suggested and delved into areas of email settings that I didn't know existed, but I continue to come up against a message which says "waiting for your email provider" and then it fails... I have used all the IMAP settings but to no avail.

Re: Downloading attachments

Just to clarify, when you say Outlook do you mean a Microsoft Outlook.com account using a web browser or do you mean Outlook the email client such as Outlook 2019 or Outlook 365?
