Downloading of e-mails and attachments

Go to solution

I have had my BT email now for 13+ years and it is full of old emails and attachments. A lot of it could be discarded but some is still valid. It would be a long process to have to go through everyone to sort out.

Is it possible to simply download all my e-mails (and attachments ) to my PC and then (say) delete all but the last year of e-mails.

I'm sure it will help the system which must be getting bogged down with the number of e-mails etc.

Any advice is appreciated

John

Hi @John_Turner

Welcome to the community.

13 years is a long time; it's no surprise you've built up a lot of old emails and attachments that may no longer be needed.

You can delete multiple emails at once by logging into your account via BT Webmail.

To make this easier, you can filter your emails by date to view messages from a specific time period. Once filtered:

Click on the checkbox next to the first email you want to delete.

Hold down the shift key.

Scroll down and click the checkbox next to the last email you want to delete.

Then click on delete or drag the selected emails to your trash folder.
