Hi My emails have been hacked over the weekend (22/11/25) so I've changed my password and made amendments to the autoforward instructions put in place by the hacker. My deletion of the forwarding email address made by the hacker seem to have been saved ok but I'm still getting a pop up window in my email window stating that 'your autoforward and rules settings have been changed. To review or change the settings go to Settings - Mail - Auto forward and Settings - Mail - Rules'
Why is this pop up still appearing if I have made thenecessary changes to negate the hacker's autoforward / rules changes ? To be honest the pop up box doesn't look like an official BT type instruction. It's a yellow box with blue type font. It may well be an official BT message but doesn;t look like it. Any ideas anyone what I can do to get rid of these pop up messages or does it signify the hack is still 'live' Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
The pop up is a security warning to tell you that forwarding has been changed or set up.
It is automatically activated by BT and can not be turned off by you or anybody else. If it could be turned off hackers could also turn it off and it would not alert you when forwarding is set up or changed.
It will automatically turn off in a few days.
Thank you so much. I am grateful for your response. It's not hard to see Im a beginner at this !!
