Re: Email Loading Issues On Webmail + Clients

Hello @Rach_H,

The issue has resurfaced. Could you or someone else kindly look into what is going on this time?

@licquorice

The problem affecting WebMail also impacts email clients accessing via IMAP. See the previous posts.

Do you have 2-factor authorisation activated on your account @DISRUPTED? If you disable this then this should stop happening.

Unless I am mistaken, BT made 2FA obligatory and it can not be turned off by the customer.

2FA however should not "kick in" when using an email client or app due to the way email clients and apps work.

@gg30340

You are correct, once 2SA is setup in My BT it cannot be turned off.
The system may take a couple of weeks to learn what devices are normal for the customer.

@Ali_A

Thanks for confirming.  I was aware of that but given how BT work it would not have surprised me if they had rescinded that and allowed users to turn it off.

As regards the way devices are "trusted" after a few weeks this seems to be very hit or miss and not at all a given that a device will be trusted after period of time.
