I am a long-standing broadband customer so should get full service BT email. My btinternet.com account of many years has always been set to auto-forward all emails to an AOL account. Over the last few months it now only works 90-95% of the time and just sometimes important emails don't get forwarded. This has happened even with multiple emails from the same source when one email will successfully forward, but another, a few minutes later, does not forward. What can be done to fix this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Use an email client such as Thunderbird or email app such as Bluemail and set it up to access both your AOL account and your BTMail account. This will alleviate the need to have forwarding set up on the BTMail account as the email client or app will access your accounts directly from the AOL and BT servers.
Thank you. I can see that would make for a work-round. I'll give it a try when I have a spare half hour to set it up and update my documentation trail (I have 3 btinternet accounts and will have to remind myself yet again of their passwords and how to set up direct pick-up from them by my MS 365 Outlook and set rules to consolidate them into a single inbox and then test they're all working!) Unless someone else can come up with any simpler ideas? Thank you for the suggestion.
There is nothing simpler than having multiple email accounts, each with their own Inbox and storage folders all within one screen of a mail client such as Thunderbird or Outlook 365. Combining accounts into a single Inbox is a terrible idea.
I personally still use Outlook 2010 with half a dozen email accounts from multiple providers.
I would agree that it is not a great idea to have all the accounts ending up in the one Inbox.
Far better to have them all separate so that they can be dealt with and filed as stand alone email accounts instead of a mish mash of all your emails mixed up in the one Inbox .
Thank you both for your sagacious suggestions. I'll turn to and make some changes.
