When I use my bt mail on my laptop and send a mail the 'reply to' address is an old email address that I no longer use. How do I change this to default to my regular 'name@btinternet.com' address?
various searches suggest I can't do this but can't believe that is true!

How are you using your BTMail account on your laptop? Are you using a web browser or an email client or email app and if so which one?
Hi- I am using a web browser. I just log in from bt.com
The return email address should be the email address that you are sending the email from. If it is then there is no way to change that.
Log onto your email account using a web browser and click on your email address/user name at the top right hand side then click on "Settings".
How many email accounts are there?
Do you see the email account that you want to change. If you do are you able to edit it?
If it only shows the one email account and you can not edit it, which is how it should be, you will need to call BT Email Team 0330.1234.150 and report the problem to them if it does not have the same return email address as the email address that sent it .
just the one email address. when I am writing the message it has the correct email address in the sender/from place but I am guessing that as soon as the recipient clicks reply it changes to a totally different address
baffled
will have to contact BT wish me luck
Is it all recipients or just the one?
If just the one the problem will be at their end.
I am still having this problem.
I type an email and hit send.
The recipient opens the message and instead of 'reply to' being- name@btinternet.com the 'reply to' is an old email address and I don't get the reply. This email address was for an old business I had and the guy that set up the website for that business set it as 'info@business.com' and it was supposed to automatically forward to my btinternet address inbox but it no longer does. I just want to change the 'reply to' to my name@btinterent.com address but have seen from researching these forum pages that this can't be done except by a BT person. Can anyone help me with who I should contact?
A separate issue is that my bt mail no longer downloads onto my Iphone. It says incorrect password even though it isn't. Apple store were baffled and tried all the usual things with no luck. I am not the main account holder but it is a premium (or whatever) account and none of the rest of my family have any issues. I am hoping to contact a sensible BT person to sort both problems. Any advice?
thanks
Hi @Purplemini
If you speak with our Email support team, they'll be able to look into this for you, to try and help fix the problem. They'll probably need to speak with the account holder, if it's something we need to change from our side.
Chris
thanks for your reply. I had a 3 hour conversation via the chat box thing yesterday and neither problem sorted. they have said I have to chat to the premium team. I am trying to summon up the energy to do that!
