Hi there @dcoady
Thanks for coming to the community,
Could you possibly let us know some extra details on what is happening with your email inbox?
Are the emails being deleted, or can you only view 50-70 emails at a time?
Thanks 🙂
Leanne.
Hi Leanne,
Thank you for your reply, I'm not sure if you received my quick reply?
Today I have 99 emails in my inbox and the oldest is 19th Nov but there should be plenty of emails I didn't delet from a month ago. I assume they're being deleted because when I do a search on an email that should be in my inbox say 1 month old, it does not appear in the results.
This was not an issue previously because my PC was using POP and therefore all the emails stayed. But now I have a new PC and setup using IMAP.
I wonder if it's a hangup from the past when the inbox size was restricted, I've had my email account forr 20 years. A suggestions would be apprciated. Thanks
Dermot
Any emails you received on the old PC via POP3 will not be on the server ( and therefore accessible by IMAP) unless you ticked a box for them to do so, they will only be on your old PC.
What email client/apps are you using on your PC and phone?
Have you checked their settings to see if they have a setting to delete emails after a set time from when they were read?
Thanks for the reply. I'm using Outlook on my PC and have an iPhone 10. All three (that includes BT server) all have the same inbox. What is strange is that my wife has one of my bt emails on her iPhone and she can see all here emails that she wants from 5 years ago, none ever drop off.
I've checked all the settings on all three clients/apps anfd I can't see where I could limit the size even if I wanted to.
They are on your old PC.
Nothing strange about your wife's emails, presumably she has never configured a client as POP3 and always as IMAP.
