Emails keeps crashing whilst I’m in the middle of writing them

In the last couple of weeks whilst in the middle of writing an email my email app on my Apple ipad goes black (disappears) only to return a second or two later to normal but minus the email I was composing. There is no sign of the errant email in my drafts box, sentbox, outbox or any other box for that matter.  My ipad is up to date with the latest software. Has anyone else with a @btinternet.com, Apple device combo experienced this, please? Thanks.

Which email app are you using?

Have you tried a different email app to see if the app is the problem?

Hi, I’m using the standard? one - please see photo. Oops this site won’t let me attach the photo as the file’s too big. But it’s the blue and white one with the blue square with an outline in white of the envelope. This Apple app allows me to access all my emails- Google, Outlook, iCloud etc. Does this help?

Does this happen regardless of which email account you are writing on or is it only happening with the BTMail account?

Are your email accounts set up as IMAP  accounts or POP3 accounts?

You never stated if you have tried a different email app to  see if the problem is with the Apple Mail app.
