Re: How can I turn OFF spam filters

Go to solution

@BarrieWalker

I have not experienced emails being flagged as spam when the sender is in my safe list. However, I have had many cases where I have emails from some senders go to the Inbox, but others from the same senders seem randomly to be detected as Spam, then later emails from those senders may go either way.

I shouldn't have to add all my contacts as safe. I have various domains set up as safe senders, including btinternet.com, co.uk, outlook.com, gmail.com and a number of others, which is possibly why I haven't had any random distribution between Inbox and Spam for email from regular contacts.

BT got the filtering wrong. I am happy with the blocking filter - stop specific domains or addresses being able to send me any emails - but the safe sender filter is a joke. It should be similar to the blocking filter - call it a Spam Filter. Let unblocked domains of websites send emails to my Inbox, unless I set up a spam rule, which directs candidate emails to the spam mailbox. That way when I see an email from someone such as trojan@outlook.com in my Inbox, I can delete it and set a rule to put further emails from that source in the spam box. Some sites do occasionally send good emails among the rubbish those sites regularly send out. I can still scan the contents of the Spam box, and if there is something of interest I can move it to the Inbox, then I can empty the Spam box or simply wait for the server to delete the junk, which is supposed to be after 30 days if they the code to handle that actually works correctly.
