My spam folder gets bombed by around 100 emails from unknown senders.
When I try to block them it seems without a sender address this can’t be done.
i expected that I could write a rule to stop emails from unknown senders. But I can’t get my email profile to load so cannot access spam rules.
i also have two versions of my email I suspect one is browser and one is app. The app version has no spam folder?
so I manage but I am proper confused.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Log onto your email account using a web browser.
Tick the box on the left hand side of the spam email then go to the "More" button in the menu bar and select "View Source". This will show you the headers of the email with the email address and domain that sent it to to you.
It is that address and domain that you want to block although you will no doubt find that it is a waste of time because the spammers constantly change their email address and domain to stop them getting blocked.

sage thanks for your email, I can’t find the “more” button?
[Mod edit: Image rejected as it contains some sensitive information]
It is at the top of the list of emails.
Sage
i still did not find the “more” button .
i don’t seem to have the same menu bar, I expect I have it hidden.
anyway I have found the rules and by experimentation I seem to be stopping the regular offenders .
well fingers crossed.
thanks for you help
No. You can't block emails without a sender address, but you can create a rule to move all messages. Try checking the web version of your email to access the full rules and folders.
All sent emails must have a sender's email address even if it is not being displayed.
If you read message 2 you will see how to find the sending email address in the headers of the email even although the email address is not displayed in the address bar.
Yes you can, but it's pointless as the sender's address (which is not displayed but can be found by looking at the headers) will continuosly change.
