BT have a security system in place that detects abnormal activity by email users (not me) . When this triggers the security system doesn’t just block a individual IP address but the whole range.i know this is the case because when this first happened my ISP contacted BT and they removed the block. It has happened repeatedly and I haven’t been able to send emails for months while connected to wireless broadband ie using the external IP address of my router. If I disconnect from wifi the IP address changes to that given by my mobile provider. The email then sends no problem.
BT fix this immediately its a PITA and I’m using a lot of my mobile data allowance when I forget to switch back to wifi.

So you're not actually with BTinternet? So are you still using a BTinternet email address - presumably you're paying for a Premium email in order to use an app. In my view your issue is with your ISP - not BT
I pay for BT mail so BT owe me a service. There is absolutely nothing my ISP can do about this. They aren’t beinv paid to chase BT every day. Note many who do use BT as their ISP also have the same problem.

Granted you are paying for BT for the email, however you are still paying your ISP to enable you to access the email. I know full well that BT do have a well known mail issue, and have for years. However your issue is not at all common - and unable to send email for months is most certainly not.
There is something your ISP can do about it (what is your ISP?) - and that is potentially fix the issue where it keeps getting blocked (if that is the case). There are a variety of reasons for this, including not being very good with their own in house spam prevention.
Frankly your best bet is to change to a non ISP email, like Gmail. It might take a few months to change (e.g. tell all your contacts and alter any website logins). The you can downgrade the email to a free webmail access only email just to check for the reducing trickle for accesses you may have forgotten.
That isn’t correct. Many have this issue.
My ISP even gave me a free fixed IP for a month to see if that would fix it and it did. As soon as that ran out the issue started again. This is down to over zealous / badly configured anti spam / email security at BT’s end.

What isn't correct? Many do not have the issue you're seeing. You've not said what your ISP is.
It sounds like BT have blocked access to their mail systems from your ISP dynamic IP ranges - and that is actually their choice and could be down to your own ISP not doing due diligence.
I work in IT and know these security systems are over sensitive and flawed. Similar to Intrusion Protection System that fire false positives galore.
Are you a BT employee Andy?
