Log in problems

I've got back in again now but bizarrely I had to confirm I'm not a robot and tick squares in pictures of bikes.

Inability to log in

I am unable to log into my email and am getting an error message:

"Sorry, but we're having trouble signing you in.

We track these errors automatically, but if the problem persists feel free to contact us. In the meantime, please try again.

ConnectionTimeOut: An exception has occurred."

Does anybody know what this means?

Re: Log in problems

This happens many more times than it should.

Security is one thing but what BT's systems seem to do is ensure that no one can ever log in sometimes. Very secure and very useless.

The BT app on my android phone is set for biometric log in but I'm pretty sure that next time I try to use it I'll have to go through the whole userID typing palaver again to be told that my password is wrong and that I'll have to wait 15 minutes before I can try again. After four attempts to exit this loop I usually give up and put up with whatever BT problem I was trying to solve. If I do manage to get passed their security then it makes me set a PIN (again) after which it never uses it.

Like you, I also sometimes get told there is a problem their end and that I should try later.

For a tech company they seem very bad at coding apps to allow their customers access to their accounts. Even Microsoft don't have this problem.

Re: Inability to log in

It means that folk at BT don't know how to code apps or configure their technology.

This nonsense occurs several time each week.

Re: Log in problems

Whereas using Blue Mail rather than the dire BT app on my Android mobile and Outlook2010 instead of the dire webmail on my laptop, I have absolutely zero problems.

Re: Log in problems

@CanardNoir

The BTMail app is in my opinion a very poor email app. You should try the free BlueMail email app for Android which I am sure you will find is a far superior app than the BTMail app.

EDIT: Post crossed with @licquorice .

I use Thunderbird on my laptop and PC and have had no issues with Bluemail or Thunderbird which I have been using for many years.
