Password Issues and can't see all emails

I have tried calling and no one could help, and I've tried using the web chat which I was told it was a 40 minute wait and I have waited over 80 minutes, so I am hoping someone might be able to help here.

Every time I log in, I have to reset my password, even when I have typed in the right one otherwise I am always temporarily locked out. Is there anything I can do about this? It is getting really tedious.

Another issue I have is that I can only see the most recent 30 emails. I can't scroll past them and only way I can see other emails is when I search for an email. Which is not great when I am trying to plan a wedding and also doing an online course where I am in email contact with my assessor.

I tried raising a complaint, but it takes me through a loop of guides that could help, but never do. The fact someone I spoke to from BT over the phone said they could not help and they can't see why this issue happens, means I'll probably have to close this account, which is not something that I want to do as everything goes to this email, but I feel I don't have a choice.

Re: Password Issues and can't see all emails

As regards not seeing all your emails when you do eventually get logged in make sure that the "Conversation View" is not active. To do that log onto your BTMail account and click on "View" in the menu bar at the right hand side. Scroll down and Single click "Conversation View" to toggle it on or off.

When you toggle it on or off you will see the name "Conversation View" change colour from grey to blue when it is turned on.

When you are logging on are you using a password that is inserted automatically by your web browser or are you entering the password manually?

It may be that if you are using the automatically filled in password it could be the wrong password that is stored. You can check this by going into your browser's settings > password and looking for your Bt stored password.

Also if you are using an email app or email client did you change its password when you are changing the password because if not it will appear that an unauthorised device is trying to log on and the BT security system will log the email account until you change the password.

Re: Password Issues and can't see all emails

I am not using conversation view and I am not using auto filled passwords as I don't use that function.
I was on the phone to someone regarding it and tried all they could think of. They logged on like the back office of it so to speak and could not see any issues. Yet when they went to look at my emails, they could see exactly what I could see.
Thank you for the reply.

Re: Password Issues and can't see all emails

You could try using a mail client such as Thunderbird rather than webmail. Not only is it a better way to deal with email, you only need to enter your password when you first set it up. After that Thunderbird automatically logs in to collect mail. It is very simple to set up, it will populate all the settings required after entering your email address and password. It will give you the choice of setting up the account as POP3 or IMAP, make sure you choose IMAP.
