Re: Phishing Help

It is a scam. BT will never email you asking you to verify your email account.

Do not click on the email's links or download anything from a suspect email.

If you have already clicked on the links or downloaded anything you should immediately disconnect your device from the Internet and then carry out a malware and virus check.

Re: Phishing Help

If you called BT and were told it’s a scam , why the need for extra verification on here  ?

Re: Phishing Help

Even more worrying is why anybody would even consider such an email to be genuine.

@licquorice

Because folks look at those emails and all sense and sensibility goes flying out the window. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell people that if an email comes into their inbox and but isn’t addressed specifically to them or starts ‘Dear Customer’ then it’s almost certainly 100 percent a scam. Even then if it puts the eebe jeebies up ya, just call your provider and ask them if it’s genuine or not. It’s all incredibly common sense stuff which apparently is really difficult to understand. I’ll get my coat…..
