Problem adding address to my BT ID

I have had BT email for about 20 years. My wife has her own email address as part of this. When I log in to My BT I can only see one active address which is my own one. I tried to add my wife's BT email address to my BT identity  but get the message , "sorry this mailbox has already been claimed'. 

I am planning on stopping using BT broadband and  moving to premium email. how can I add my wife's email address to my account?

Use the 'Import' option in the manage email screen.
