Problem attaching photos

My BT mail app froze so I deleted and re-installed.  I not can't attach any photos or pictures to my emails. I get a message - "storage permissions must be granted " ( see pic). I have allowed as many permissions as I can find but I still can't attach anything. Help !  TIA

Re: Problem attaching photos

Delete the BT mail app again and then install a proper app.

If Android, try Blue Mail or if Apple just use the native mail app.

Thankyou for your reply. I don't quite understand your suggestion. I thought the BT mail app was a proper app ?

It is an email app but not a very good one. There are far better free email apps such as those that have been mentioned.

Re: Problem attaching photos

I've come on to Community as I've found exactly the same problem using the BT app on my phone to try to attach photos to emails - "storage permissions must be granted before files can be attached from the device". I've recently upgraded my phone, but I don't remember this being a problem previously.

I'm surprised  that the Community advice is don't use the BT App. I use BT email on my PC and on my tablet, where I do  most of my emailing. Does Blue Mail link to my BT email account ( messages, address book, saved messages in folders etc etc ), or is the advice simply don't use BT Email at all on PC, tablet or phone?

In the meantime, I'd be very grateful if someone can tell me how to grant the required storage permissions in the BT App.

Thanks  Jeff

Re: Problem attaching photos

Of course it does, Blue Mail is a far superior app to the dire BT app.

Re: Problem attaching photos

Thanks for the "Of course it does" dig. I'm asking for help, not to be patronised.

Can you please answer the question - if you don't know how to grant the required permissions in the app, then tell me and I'll look for help elsewhere.

I freely admit I've never heard of Bluemail, but I'm currently  trying to send some photos for work. I'll happily take your advice and look at Bluemail when I have some time.

Thanks

Re: Problem attaching photos

No idea what the storage permissions thing is, it could possibly be a function of your device not allowing access to files rather than the mail app.

Take 30 seconds to download and install Blue Mail and see if it solves the problem or not. If it doesn't, the problem lies with your device.
