I'm facing the same issue. Have tried to log into my yahoo account (it has the format xyz@btinternet.com). However, it keeps wanting to send a verification code to the very email account I can't log into! Suggestions?
BT no longer use Yahoo for their email service. Your account is now BTMail with @btinternet.com.
When was the last time you logged onto the account?
How are you trying to log into your account? Is it with a shortcut or are you using your MyBT.
Have you tried clicking on the "Email" button at the top of this page?
Have you tried clearing your web browser's history and cookies? When you do that make sure that you select the option "Clear All Time" if your browser offers that option.
Did you enter an alternate email address in your MyBT profile so that an email can be sent to that in instances like this?
Thank you for your reply.
From your suggestions as to what to do I'm wondering if you may have misunderstood?
As per my post I'm trying to log into my yahoo account where my email has the @btinternet.com suffix. It was all working fine previously (up to a week or so ago) but recently the mail is failing to synchronise with my iphone.
I have no problems with getting into my BT account for which I use a different username/email altogether.
I do not understand when you say your Yahoo account. BT no longer have any affiliation with Yahoo.
Are you trying to log into Yahoo.com email Yahoo.Com using your btinernet email address as your user name?
Are you using the Yahoo email app to access your btinternet email account?
Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?
If neither of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client

"Are you trying to log into Yahoo.com email Yahoo.Com using your btinernet email address as your user name?"
YES
"Are you using the Yahoo email app to access your btinternet email account?"
NO
"Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account?"
YES to the former, NO to the latter.
Then what on earth has your problem got to do with BT?
When you use your btinternet email address as a username on Yahoo it is not being used as an email address, it is only being used as a string of letters and symbols to make up a username just in the same way as you use many other different usernames.
As I said previously, BT has nothing to do with Yahoo and as such your log on problem has nothing to do with BT. The problem is with Yahoo so you will have to contact Yahoo to resolve it.
@licquorice What on earth has your response got to do with helpfulness? It's just rude.
@gg30340 A civil reply. Understood. Thank you.
