STOP RESETTING MY PASSWORD

Go to solution

I have had to reset my password THREE TIMES THIS WEEK because BT thinks my account is insecure. All I've done is use a VPN! Enough already!

Yes there is a difference.

MyBT is where you manage your BT Broadband account and view your bills etc.

BTMail is where you send and receive emails from.

Re: STOP RESETTING MY PASSWORD

In response to your BTMail account being seen as being insecure it is because you are using a VPN.

As you may know a VPN can use servers from various locations many of which are no doubt not in the UK. This can give the impression that the owner of the email account, in this case you, is in different countries or locations when trying to access the email account.

Because BT's security system sees the various different locations from various different countries it surmises that the account holder can not possibly be in those various locations at the same time so it must be that hackers are trying to access the email account and as such it locks the account to prevent access until the password is changed.

Does your email account get locked when you do not use the VPN?
