Spam Control

Go to solution

BT sends to SPAM, every day, emails from a journal (just 2, out of many sent) and every day I mark them as not SPAM and safe sender and every day I am told smugly that these are already identified as such and the next day 2 out of several emails (albeit sent to two different addresses both of which are diverted to BT Internet Mail) are again sent to SPAM. This has been going on for weeks.

Does anyone know of a fix for this (it sometimes happens on other emails which I have already 'cleared' as kosher but not with such remorseless regularity?

Re: Spam Control

Hi there @Jules68

Thanks for coming back to the community.

Please see the Using BT Mail's anti-spam features page for help with emails being sent to the spam folders.

Hope this helps.

Peter 🙂

Re: Spam Control

I regularly use the spam control system, but with one sender emails are sent to spam, but when I then report they are not spam (and safe sender) I'm told the system already knows that. So why does it send these emails again to spam every day?

Re: Spam Control

I should add that I have reported these emails as not spam and safe sender about 20-30 times, or more.  This has been the first day (so far) that I have not got the first of these daily news updates from a very respectable journal sent to SPAM - although 2 or more other updates from the same sender a day go to my mail box as normal. If none of my instructions were followed I might understand that, but everything else works as normal, and this sender is allowed through for all e-mails bar one set a day. Particularly annoying is the smug way the system tells me that this sender is already in the safe senders list - and then next day does the same damn thing!

Re: Spam Control

I've now resolved my problem - turns out than an email client (and not BT Mail itself) was marking these email as spam - so they were being effectively diverted from my inbox to a spam folder by the client. I actually caught it doing that when I was logged in, so could tell the client the sender was OK. Since then no problems.
