Does anyone out there use Microsoft Outlook to receive e-mails and is a BT user?
I have a recent problem in that Spam e-mails are getting through to my PC on outlook and they never used to!?
I suspect this is due to my settings in Outlook, but I can't unsubscribe the Spam folder in Outlook - it is just not allowed to do that.
Thankyou,
Alistair Wood
well i don think its decause of out look a bot could be just spaming everyone on BT internet email doman @btinternet.com
use thunderbird instead
and just block the email
use another email client https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PM5VM1S3VMQ?hl=en-gb&gl=GB&ocid=pdpshare
if your using windows windows 10 or 11 it should redirect to the window app store
here are the email settings https://www.bt.com/help/email/manage-email-account/manual-settings/what-are-the-settings-for-outgoin...
you can use both Bt email adresses plus outlook.com bt email accounts in that programme
if theese dont cone through here this are built in ads that appear just before your inbox folder
Appreciate what you're saying, and thanks for your reply, but
a) I don't want to use anything other than outlook
b) I don't understand why outlook is even receiving the server Spam e-mails?! If BT decide a message is Spam it shouldn't even get as far as my client, should it? This problem has only occurred in the last few weeks.
c) Each spam message is from a different address and varying subjects, so I don't think it is as a result of an increase in spam generally - it's a sudden increase.
d) I can't unsubscribe the Spam folder (that would seem to be the obvious answer to all of this)
just add the spam domain to the fliter list
What I'm saying is that the spams come from a variety of different domains. The domains are valid. It is the e-mail addresses, that Outlook is recognising as spam, but I can't prevent them from reaching me, even though BT also recognises them as spam. To block each one of them would take ages every day.
