Transferring BT emails to Outlook

Go to solution

I am changing over from having email addresses ending '@btinternet.com' to '@outlook.com'. Is it possible to migrate my existing email history across to my new outlook accounts please ?  I looked at using Proton mail and that would have allowed a simple import process but I can't see anything similar to do what I want.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Hi @Wellow1   Why not do it in Outlook, open up both accounts and copy/paste.

Or indeed any Email client of choice.

Folders other than Inbox and Sent can be transferred as  folders

Ask Outlook, nothing to do with BT.

You can simply drag and drop, you don't have to copy and paste.

What are you actually trying to achieve? All your mails in one place or all your mails under one email account?

If the former, simply create both accounts in the client of your choice.

I take it you do know that Outlook.com is webmail and confusingly Microsoft also call their email client Outlook.

Although named the same they handle email differently and allow you to manage your emails in different ways.

What you want to do can not be done with BTMail and Outlook.com.

To transfer your emails from BTMail to Outlook.com it would require you download and install either the Outlook email client or any other email client such as Thunderbird.

If you then set the email client up correctly to be able to access both your BTMail account and your Outlook.com email account you will then be able to transfer emails from BTMail to Outlook.com using the email client.
