Unable to send email from iPhone

Go to solution

I'm unable to send email from my iPhone.

Error message: NETWORK ERROR  POSIX 96

Everything was perfect yesterday. Is this a fault on the BT side as  Gmail and Apple email are fine?

If you are not able to send emails on BTMail it is irrelevant that you can send emails using a different email service. They all use their own server settings and email servers.

Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account or did you migrate to EE Broadband?

If none of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client or email apps.

It has nothing to do with BT or EE or migration to them. It turned out to be the security settings on my router which is a Three router. I dispensed with BT and EE some time ago. They are both exorbitant and BT own EE. All I have retained is email— and I have to pay for the privilege of that.

Perhaps if you had mentioned that you were using your own router and that you were paying for your email account through a BT Premium email account an answer regarding that may have been forth coming. At least it is sorted now.
