Upgrade email to premium from basic

I haven't yet because I thought it should be easy to do on line. The instructions don't correspond to my screens and it just keeps going back round the same questions. There should be a link in the instructions to click and take you to the page

OK. I'm now on Premium and I still can't send my emails. I'm on Thunderbird as my email client. I've checked all my settings. I can receive but not send
