14 days ago my macbook mailbox stopped receiving my bt mail. I was advised to delete the email from the mailbox and reinstall it. It would not let me reinstall ‘did not recognise’ the details. Apple believes that this is because it is a standard email account as opposed to a ‘premium’. The mailbox has been operating quite normally for 18 years. Could this be right?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account or did you migrate to EE Broadband?
If none of the above your email account may have been downgraded to a BTMail Basic account which can not be used with an email client or email apps.

Standard and Premium are exactly the same. Premium is just the name given to Standard for non BT broadband customers who pay.
