emails fromBTinternet.com domain

emails from mybtinternet.com domain sometimes do not go to the recipients. These my be other btinternet.com users, or users of Outlook. The problem appears to be the security certificate of my btinternet.com domain. I spoke to BT about this, and they blame my use of Outlook, i.e. Microsoft. I had contact with Microsoft via chat, and they blamed BT. I am a user, and understand some of my contacts have found the same problem. However, emails used to always get through. The disappearing emails only started about a year or so ago. How can this be resolved please, as neither company seems interested in helping?

Re: emails fromBTinternet.com domain

Hi @David21C1,

Welcome to the BT Community

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with sending some of your emails. Do you get an error message when you try and send them or what happens? With those mailboxes you have issues sending to, do all emails you try and send not arrive or do some go through ok?

You mention using outlook as your mail client and this being highlighted when you got in touch previously. Just do double check are you able to send a message that was blocked when using outlook, successfully through BT Webmail?

Re: emails fromBTinternet.com domain

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried webmail. I am not very computer literate and I am almost giving up on this one. Unreliable emails are a major problem in this digital age. I spend a lot of money on my BT account. Sending to BTinternet.com SOMETIMES just disappears, SOMETIMES comes back that the domain certificate has not been recognised and very occasionally gets through.  I do not seem to be having this problem to recipients with domain names other than btinternet.com.

The problem only developed about a year ago. It was after update to Windows 11 and it was after my landline was changed because of the retirement of the copper network - I am now on a BTSmarthub 2. I think these two facts are  coincidence only - but who knows?

I have used OUTLOOK (or its predecessor Outlook Express) since I first had an email address and I have never faced anything like this problem before.

David
