From December 2026, we’re upgrading BT Email to use enhanced secure connections called TLS, or Transport Layer Security. This means your emails will be more private and better protected, giving you extra peace of mind.
What you need to do
If you use an email app or client, like Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird, you’ll need to update your settings so they use a secure TLS connection. This applies to sending and receiving messages, including checking your inbox or sending mail. Just tap Get started to find the steps for your specific email client. |
