Question (1) What is the quality of digital voice like? How does it compare with the bandwidth of the current analogue system?
I ask because the clarity of DECT phones is poor; can I expect the digital voice quality to be at least as good as the (far from brilliant, but good enough) analogue signal?
For questions (2) and (3) see later comments below.
EDIT: to add that there are two more questions below.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Card through the door says if I need an adaptor because the telephone is not near the router, order one at bt.com/dvequipment.
Go to that webpage, enter telephone number, system says "not eligible".
So where do i go to get an adaptor sent to me?
Incidentally the "online chat" is also not working. I cannot use the telephone to speak to someone.
have you actually been moved to digital voice?
did you try texting ADAPTER to 61998
What happens to existing wired extensions when digital voice is implemented on a copper (fibre to the cabinet?) installation?
Clearly they won't work any more as they stand because there won't be an analogue voice signal at the master socket any more. So does BT do anything to convert the installation? Or is it up to the householder to find (and pay for) a new solution to their extension needs?
I have moved all your posts onto one thread as they are all related to you moving to DV and it keeps the questions and answers all in the one place.
It is a not a forum just about DV. It is a BT forum which has a board for questions about DV. It is more confusing to have your questions spread through out the DV board rather than you just asking all your questions on one thread.
It might also be worth you actually searching through the board as the questions you are asking have already been asked and answered previously.
