Advanced Digital Home Phone won't accept incoming calls and is always synchronising to hub

I've read the thread on here on how to cure this and have tried all of them EXCEPT taking the batteries out as I can NOT open the handset! The guide is no help at all.   What do you do!!?? rip the back off?? It looks like if I pull it it will snap!

I've re set it, unplugged it, restarted the router about 10 times, worn the battery out, re started it and it ... as soon as it rings (once) it synchros to base.... and it won't even let you leave a voice mail.

I've now 'text' BT for help 6 times with no joy.

It seems impossible to talk to anyone! Its also impossible for anyone to ring me!

HELP!!!!

did you port your number from a previous ISP?  dial 17070 and should hear your number - is that a new number or ported number?

Re: Advanced Digital Home Phone won't accept incoming calls and is always synchronising to hub

Hello @tinatina  and welcome to the community.

This sounds like a parallel phone service or number port failure.

parallel phone service is where we’ve moving your PSTN to the IPX Network and getting everything moved over this can take a week or so from activation to complete.

number port failure is where we allow the handsets to make or receive calls but not both or fails to work completely and the number isn’t fully moved over to the DV Service correctly.

Or it could be a fault with the Hubs registration or a DV fault.

this needs investigating to determine the exact cause of this and it’s going to be hard over the forum to work out the exact cause so…

I would recommend messaging a BT Moderator who’ll be able to look into this for you.

Hope this helps! 🙂 If you like my reply and
