BT 4000 & BT 4600

Can I use 2 base stations, BT 4000 and BT 4600 together. Mistakenly purchased a singlle BT 4000 base unit, the thought is to purchase a BT 4600 as the base unit plugged into the phone line with the BT 4000 (currently used as the base unit) demoted to serve as the additional handset.

Re: BT 4000 & BT 4600

Yes, but you may need to deregister the 4000 from its base & register to the 4600 base.

Depending on how similar they are, possibly not all functions will work.

Many thanks, is there a simpler way? Perhaps someone can recommend a suitable additional handset to match the BT 4000.

Re: BT 4000 & BT 4600

It would probably be better to start again with a 4600 multiset rather than try to find an older 4000.

Re: BT 4000 & BT 4600

Sadly the BT 4000 base unit only was recently purchased as a gift without knowing the recepient did not have a phone extension. Is there a single handset available to match as the BT 4000 is still on sale as new?

Re: BT 4000 & BT 4600

Amazon seem to have the best price for additional 4000 handsets at £25.

But beware of sellers with just the handset with no charging base.

Thank you, additional handsets seem unavailable on aftermarket unless refurbished.  Poor sales technique from BT.
