We have a BT essential Cordless that we have had for almost ayear. Today everytime we attempt to call a number the word 'Busy' is displ;ayed on the screen. We have checked all 4 phones and all appears Ok. we have had other BT users call us on our landline and all Ok. we can call each phone internally. No matter what action we have taken to check the phones all appearsto be Ok but we still get 'Busy' on every attempt to call a number. Can anyone help?

Have you tried removing the power to the base unit for about a minute?
Thanks for the response Keith, As yet we haven't but it was our next step. We are disabled and can't get to the power switch. One of our children (the youngin, aged 44) will be callingin this evening and I will be getting her to switch off (for a minute or two) and on and I willm let you know the result.
It sometimes happens with cordless phones if the base unit loses synchronisation with the handsets, preventing outgoing calls. Removing the power for a short while, resets the link.
Keith - as you thought power off and on solved the problem😁. The daughter switched power off for about 10 seconds ony and when switched back on the 'Busy' display ceased when a number was called.
