BT digital phone "without using hub2"

Go to solution

We have had full fibre fora few years and had previously connected our home phone line to the openreach fibre terminal  however we have never used a BT supplied router. BT sent us a new router Hub 2 for digital voice which is still sitting in its box in the corner. This has meant we no longer have a landline phone. The reason we do not wish to use the new Hub2 is that we have a Deco Mesh system that has been flawless and do not wish to upset this by placing the hub2 into the mix. Can we access the voip system another way as we already have a VOIP interface (not connected at present) however BT do not offer a link to the protocols and thus  cannot set it up.

As posted countless times on the forum, not least in the FAQ, it is not possible to utilise BT Digital Voice other than with the Smart Hub2 directly connected to the ONT.

as has been posted many times on the forum you need to use the SH2 to get digital voice and it must be first connected to the ONT
