Old telephone with PSTN connector does not ring on the adapter but works ok when plugged into the SH2. Also connected phone via a adsl filter thus providing a bell cct works ok. Either the adapter is faulty or never designed with the bell cct. I have just bought it from BT shop and wonder if I need to return it as faulty

Never designed for the old bell circuit, not faulty. A replacement will be exactly the same.

Re: BT digital voice adapter
@RodF46 - Does it ring with a microfilter plugged into the Digital Voice adaptor (and phone into the microfilter)?
