BT old basic contract

I am supporting an elderly vulnerable individual to get caller ID on his phone after 3 visits   and 7 hours of calls to BT the only solution seems to be on offer is to have no caller ID on the phone and await a move to digital ( no date offered) or move to digital now and  face an increase in  costs from £5 a month to £20 month (£12 plus £8 calling plan )This individual is a victim of phone scams and rather disappointing that this cant be sorted by BT without increasing his  payments and changing his contract . I see several posts on here saying this can be enabled through an online account is this the case surely an elderly person  cant always do this  and after the hours spent talking to BT surely could be done on his behalf . i look forward to your answer on this

Re: BT old basic contract

note this individual requires all bills to be paper bulls and has no use for broadband and has no email address so cant use BT online account - I am a support worker so  the option of using my own email to sign up for an account is not appropriate  would appreciate a response from a BT  moderator
