I bought a BT4600 for my 89-year old mother primarily as she was troubled by nuisance marketing calls. These are now screened out but despite setting up all her regular callers from her contacts as “approved”, this feature has never worked. All calls go through the screening, even from family. Tedious, but not the end of the world. What is most annoying is that all three handsets set their ringers to off after a few minutes on their bases, so most times when people call her there’s no reply as she’s unaware that a there’s an incoming call. Worrying if trying to check that an 89-year-old living alone is OK. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be welcome. Thanks
Its possible that the Caller Display facility is not enabled on her line, as the BT4600 needs that enabled to work properly.
Can you please confirm that she is a BT Retail customer?
Yes, as far as I am aware her landline/broadband are provided by BT
