Hello,
Quite recently I've noticed that most calls to my landline which come from mobile phones are not being matched up with the contacts in my BT8500 phone. What I mean is, when I get a call from a mobile that is saved in my contacts list, the phone just displays the incoming phone number, it doesn't display the name associated with that number in my contacts.
There are a couple of mobile callers for whom it still works, so it's OK sometimes - and it always works if the incoming call is coming from a landline - but if it's one of the mobiles that doesn't work then it never works, it's not that for certain numbers it works sometimes but not other times.
From the 'Calls' list, I've tried re-saving some of the problematic numbers , but it's made no difference - the next time they ring it just shows the number not the saved name.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
I guess it can only be one of two things. Either the mobile network is sending something odd in the CLI or the 8500 is struggling to identify it correctly.
Are you on digital voice & if so, where is the phone connected?
Is the contact correctly identified if the same caller calls your mobile?
Are the affected callers all on the same mobile network?
Thanks for responding.
I'm not on Digital Voice, no.
I can't say 100% as I don't think all the people have rung both my mobile and my landline, but those that have: yes, their name shows up as normal on my mobile.
Mobile network? Good question. Off the top of my head, I don't know, I shall try to find out, thanks.
Odd.
I was thinking maybe the mobile calls were being presented as +447 rather than 07, but then you said you resaved the numbers & it still didn't work.
Next time it happens it might be worth dialling 1471 to check how the call is identified there.
That's a good idea. I shall try it. Unfortunately, my own mobile doesn't cause the problem so I can't find glean any info my trying that.
