This forum, in case you didn't read it, is a customer to customer self help forum to resolve solvable problems.

Pointlessly repeating the same mantra over and over again doesn't help.

The subject has been discussed in far loftier places than this and is still going ahead.

Do you suggest BT supply you with a diesel generator?

Ask the other telcos what they are providing to mitigate power cuts.

you have obviously never been in rural areas , and that unfortunately appears to be the problem with this forum , as long as the people in the towns are ok , who cares about the rest of you , if you can afford to live in the country
, buy a generator
unfortunately a large % of not so well off population also live in the country

As you are hopefully aware, this is a customer to customer self help forum. There is little to no input from BT and nobody said it was a toothed tiger or any other type of tiger for that matter nor are there any expectations of it being one except apparently by you.

As has been pointed out this has been discussed many many times already on the forum and even in Parliament.

The solutions that have been offered by the forum have been explained may times but basically it is to buy a decent battery back up device. There are plenty on the market that will last more than an hour but none that I am aware of that will last for many days if they are also being used to supply power to more than a BT Smarthub and phone.

Am I missing something here? Are there not available power supply units that people use for camping etc that can power many devices for hours on end having been pre-charged of course. I realise that there are not cheap - just looked at one from Amazon for £400 but at least it can be used to power some essentials and maybe the Hub to keep you BB and phone working.

Could you please inform me where you think you know where I live and what my income is?

Would there be any use if @foneless could at least indicate very approximately where they live without revealing their exact location to check mobile phone  signal availability. I know that there are black spots in the most unlikely of places and especially when indoors and with 5G.

I suspect I might get my head bitten off here but, anyway…a lot of the people living on the canal boats near me, (clearly not high earners), have portable generators the size of a brief case.  One of those, linked to a UPS like the APC’s BE850G2-UK and you could last for days.

And I like this forum.  The level of technical expertise expressed on here far outstrips anything on other ISP’s forums.  Even I learn new stuff and I’ve worked in IT.

On a more personal note, as an OAP that lives on my own, I just hope I’m still in a position to still get to a phone if something happens.
