Can I receive calls from people in my contact list without being announced?

Can I  receive calls from people or companies in my contact list without them being an announced call. It is very frustrating?

That will be a function of whatever call blocking phone you have. Consult the manual.

You can't really expect any meaningful help without providing any details of what equipment/service you're using & whether this has ever worked.

I have had a Digital BT phone for nearly 2 years. At first all contacts would be displayed on incoming calls.  But for the last 6 months every call received must be announced.  Cannot contacts be separated from incoming calls. I realise call protect is good, but not to the point that it is monitoring all calls. 

Sorry I  didn't explain myself properly on my  earlier question,  definitely a Digital landline phone.

Sounds like Caller ID has stopped working. Go to MyBT & check it's enabled. If is is, disable it for a while & then re-enable.

It isn't managed in MyBT unfortunately, you need to call BT to get it re-enabled.

Its hidden away in 'Cancel Calling Features'
