If you are with Sky you may have been moved to the Sky Talk phone service due to the closure of the PSTN. Have you tried plugging the phone into the back of the router and then rebooting it?
as you are a Sky customer and not BT you should post on the SKY community forum for assistance
I have a BT land line and not sky my broadband is with sky
OK, just to clarify further then...
From next January, at the latest, the old PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) will be completely closed down. The phone service will be switched to part of the broadband service and will no longer be a separate service. This means you will no long be able to have broadband with one supplier and phone with another. Going forward, they will have to be supplied by the same provider, (if a phone service is to be supplied at all). For most of the country this has already happened. Are you sure you have not been switched, (i.e. your old phone service is now turned off)? You should have been informed by a letter.
And to clarify even further, you are not talking to BT here. This is just a public to public customer self-help forum. Everyone except for the moderators, who do work EE, are just fellow customers, like yourself. The point is, it may be useful to ask Sky as well, as they will be more familiar with what is going on with Sky.

AFAIK , Sky got rid of all their ‘off net’ phone customers that were not willing to move to Sky telephony alongside their Sky broadband, in excess of 10 years ago , they were offered a choice , join Sky for both services , or find a new broadband provider …..if you are paying BT for telephone (circa £30 for PAYG calls , or £48 for unlimited calls ) , and Sky for broadband ( presumably in the order of £25-£30) your total bill of £55 -£70+ is in the order of twice what it needs to be if either BT or Sky provided both service …..perhaps you can confirm ( if you genuinely do have a shared metallic path with BT and Sky both providing services over the same ‘line’ ) what you pay each company…..
Hi you have to have a bt land line to get sky broadband yes I pay to both companies
Of course you don't
