DV changeover

Go to solution

I'm on alert for DV tomorrow.  I've plugged a phone into the SHS green socket (it is silent) and still have other phones on the land line but may not be around when the deed is done.  Apart from telling me it is done, does BT need to tell or ask me anything special?

I had a call this morning at 8am - which seems to have changed my 1571 slightly - so something is happening.   I've just (11am) had an audio version of an SMS message on 1571 which said that DV would be done by midnight tomorrow but it may take a further 48 hours to be working.

apart from connecting you phone to green socket on SH2 there is nothing else you need to do to get DV working

I did need to restart the router for it to pick up the new settings when mine was done.

Re: DV changeover

As of 4.20 this morning I have a live DV and a dial tone on the analogue system.  It must be in transit between the systems.  I've not tried to make a call on either - don't want to wake up the house.

Re: DV changeover

You may find the old line remains "active" for quite a while.  They give it a temporary number and transfer your old number to DV, so you will still get a dial tone from it.
