Dect Phone and DV Handset

Go to solution

As FTTP has recently become available in our area I imagine that I will quite soon be invited to "upgrade" and that will include changing to DV.

Currently I have a cordless DECT phone with a number of handsets and understand about plugging that into the "green socket" on the smarthub. However I think that I will need an additional handset, and since I can no longer get additional handsets for the DECT phone, I might get a BT DV handset.

As I understand it, there is no problem about mixing and matching, but I do have a couple of questions.

For example, when there is an incoming call, which handset would ring or would it be both. Also, if a call is being made on the DECT phone, could another call be made on the DV handset, or do all handsets have to be BT DV ones for "multi-call" to work.

With an incoming call, all handsets will ring and calls can be answered on any. However, if the call is answered on one system it can't be picked up on the other. There is no connectivity between the DV handset(s) and handset(s) connected to the base station.

If multi call is enabled, a second call can be made whilst the first is in progress.

You're also likely to find that a call in answered on the DV phone will show as a missed call on the other set.
