Follow message 3 above by gg30340.
The basics of it are that you CANNOT cancel nor switch off voicemail.
Follow his guide and place a NEW order, yes, a NEW order, and when you do that, following the info above, you will have the same plan as you’re currently on, but no annoying voicemail.

For people that don’t want voicemail at all, they should follow message 3 above where gg30340 explains it perfectly.
Place a new order removing the voicemail part of the calling features. His post explains it better than me.
Perfect for those that don’t want voicemail AT ALL

BT's digital voice voicemail can be set to as much as 10 double rings before it kicks in. That is actually a LONG time and you can easily set up your own answerphone to answer after anything up the 9 rings and it will cut in before BT's voicemail does.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see a problem here!

Problem is that some people, especially old or disabled people can’t get to the phone before that and/or they don’t want nor asked for voicemail features.

@Nigel-74  Your messages 11&12 contradict each other.

Message 12 is the correct version. Voicemail can be disabled. Please edit message 11 by deleting current text and replace with 'deleted by poster'.

It is message 4 that gives the solution, not message 3

But surely if they can't get to the phone within 10 double rings, then the caller will give up and ring off. Why is that better than the caller being asked to leave a message that the householder can pick up at their leisure later?

Some householders are old and have never used answerphones before.
its the fact that the option isn’t there for them to switch the service off, but to have to use a convoluted workaround to get there.

service suits you… it doesn’t suit everyone, as people are different 🤷🏻‍♂️

Where is the option to edit?
More convoluted ways to fix something 🤦‍♂️

You can only edit a post for 1 hour after posting, you have left it too late.

Btw… both 11&12 are wrong with the message number but not the username of the solution so hopefully that helps the person who’s after the information. 🤞
