An update, I got a call back this morning, two hours after the expected call. I spoke to a lovely lady in Sunderland, who was very sympathetic and told me she was onto the back office team and would keep me posted. Half an hour I got the following text:
Hello, it's xxxx from BT. I have managed to fix the digital voice issue. The offline team have found the order was stuck and have now closed the digital voice order meaning you should be able to receive inbound callsThanks.
A very vague explanation, but 33 days later I now have a land line.
I now need BT to give me the 500MB for £39.99 tariff or I will be leaving after this omnishambles.
