It's much simpler with FTTP, simply disconnect the incoming wires from the master socket and then connect the master socket to the hub green socket using the double ended cable.

If FTTP is available to you, it's a no brainer to move to it. Better speeds and reliability.

In the interim, assuming your alarm has a BT plug, a DV adapter as previously suggested should sort you out.

Although there still seems to be a separate issue if an analogue phone plugged into the SH2 doesn't work.

For a given package, prices are the same regardless of being delivered by FTTP or FTTC, plus you get the full pacjakge speed as line length isn't a governing factor.

Only the higher speeds unavailable to FTTC are more expensive.

Just connected my Yale EF-kit2 to the new router with a Digital Voice Adapter. This plugs into the mains, plug the alm phone lead into it,  and that’s it.
